Department of Energy (DOE), a Manila-based government energy regulator, has confirmed a major grid milestone for MTerra Solar. According to Department of Energy, Stage 1 of the MTerra Solar Project has achieved successful 500 kV substation energization. Terra Solar Philippines, a Philippines-based solar project developer, is connecting 364 MW of planned capacity with battery systems. The grid cut-in occurred along the Nagsaag–San Jose, Line 2, a 500 kV high-voltage transmission corridor in Luzon, Philippines in December 2025. Commercial operations for Stage 1 are targeted for Q1 2026, as per Department of Energy updates. The development aligns with nationwide monitoring of 200 generation projects ordered by Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., President of the Philippines . As of November 2025, Department of Energy has reported 956 MW added across Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao. The Coordination with National Grid Corporation of the Philippines is ongoing to manage grid readiness, permitting, commissioning risks.
