Distributed Energy Infrastructure (DEI), a US-based renewable energy developer and engineering company, has completed a 7.1 MW solar and 4 MW BESS project on a remediated EPA Superfund site in Acton, Massachusetts. As per DEI, the portfolio was developed in collaboration with Syncarpha Capital and Terrasmart to convert a former chemical manufacturing site into a renewable energy facility. DEI has implemented strict environmental safety measures, including Hazwoper-certified crews, minimal excavation, and aboveground electrical construction to avoid soil disturbance. When asbestos was identified during development, certified specialists were engaged to document and remove materials under regulatory supervision. The installation has created 40 local jobs, generated additional tax revenue, and preserved farmland by reusing contaminated land. DEI has stated that the facility supports Massachusetts’ SMART and Clean Peak Standard programs by supplying power during high-demand periods. DEI has delivered over 500 renewable projects US-wide, totaling 1.2 GW of solar and 400 MWh of storage.
