DAS Solar, a China-based PV module manufacturer, has supplied n-type bifacial panels for a 74.3 MW floating solar project in Haute-Marne. The fPV, developed by Q Energy France, include over 135,000 panels spanning across 127 hectares of former gravel pits. The facility is anticipated to supply electricity to around 37,000 people annually and offset 18,000 tons of COâ‚‚ emissions per year. DAS Solar has stated that its floating solution is designed with buoyant structures and optimized layouts to ensure stable output and ease maintenance. Earlier this year, DAS Solar had signed a strategic agreement with Voltec Solar at SNEC 2024 to co-develop PV technologies and scale large projects across Europe. According to SolarPower Europe, fPV capacity in Europe is projected to exceed 20 GW by 2030, although adoption has remained limited due to technical and financial barriers.
