Conrad Energy, a UK-based energy company, has announced that its 18 MW floating solar farm in Whisby, Lincolnshire, has received planning approval. The project, developed with Tarmac, will place solar panels on former quarry lakes.It was among the UK’s largest floating solar installations. The plant had an expected annual output equivalent to the electricity demand of about 4,700 homes. It was estimated to reduce around 4,194 tons of CO₂ emissions each year, comparable to driving over 54 million miles. Located on screened brownfield land, the site also provided biodiversity and water quality benefits.
