China Huadian backs Central Asia’s clean energy expansion

Huadian announced solar and gas projects in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, expanding its clean energy capacity and regional presence under the Belt and Road Initiative.

China Huadian Corporation Ltd has announced new clean energy developments to expand operations in Central Asia. China Huadian Corporation Ltd. has 242GW of global installed capacity, with 56.2% from clean sources. It is building a 500MW solar project in Uzbekistans Jizzakh Region. In Kazakhstan, it developed a 33.3MW solar project in Shieli and a 160MW gas turbine facility in Aktau. Director Zhu Bin shared these updates at the ChinaCentral Asia Cooperation Development Forum in Astana. Zhu said Huadian has the largest power capacity under construction among Chinese firms in the region. He reaffirmed support for the Belt and Road Initiative and regional low-carbon goals.
