CESC Green Power, a wholly owned subsidiary of CESC Ltd under the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, has announced an investment of ₹5,000 crore (~ $550 million). CESC Green Power is based in india, and the investment is planned for India’s clean energy sector, with a focus on solar manufacturing, renewable generation, and battery facilities. CESC Green Power has outlined more than 3 GW of solar cell and module capacity with ancillary and value-chain units. CESC Green Power has also proposed a 60 MW renewable power plant alongside new battery manufacturing units to expand operations. CESC Ltd has confirmed equity infusion, institutional funding, and strategic guidance will be provided to ensure financial closure and completion. This initiative was described as a major diversification for CESC, which was earlier focused mainly on electricity generation, transmission, and distribution.
