The utility has committed $7.75 million in siting payments and projected 800 construction jobs annually during the two-year build phase. Hexagon Energy, a Virginia-based renewable energy developer, has received approval for the 6 MW Planters Solar project with minimal land disruption. Planters Solar includes ecological buffers, a six-month construction timeline, and bonds allocated for project decommissioning.
