Avangrid nears 10.5 GW installed capacity across US

US’s Avangrid powered 3.1 million homes with a diverse energy mix, expanding across US regions and partnering on eight data center projects in February 2025.

Avangrid Inc., a member of the Iberdrola Group, reported nearing 10.5 GW of installed energy capacity across 24 US states. Its assets powered approximately 3.1 million homes. The company’s portfolio included onshore wind, solar, hydropower, natural gas, and fuel cells. Regional capacity distribution consisted of 3.8 GW in the West, 2.2 GW in Texas and New Mexico, 2.7 GW in the Midwest, and 1.7 GW in the East. Avangrid’s energy infrastructure supported increased electricity demand from electrification, new manufacturing, and data centers. In February 2025, it partnered with major technology firms on eight projects powering data centers. The company maintained over 500 permanent jobs for operations and maintenance. It contributed over $50 million in property taxes in the past year. Its energy generation capacity was set to expand further. A pipeline of approximately 27 GW of new projects was under construction and development.
