Aspen Power, a US-based renewable energy company, has recently acquired a 14.1 MW DC community solar portfolio in Illinois from Arrow Solar Development LLC under a Membership Interest Purchase and Development Services Agreement. Aspen Power will manage the transition of these early-stage projects into construction and operation, increasing its Illinois capacity to approximately 34 MW. According to Aspen Power, the projects align with Illinois’ Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA), aiming to provide clean energy access for low and moderate income communities. These installations are structured as public-private partnerships, involving school districts, municipalities, and nonprofit-owned properties. Illinois has recently seen strong growth in community solar adoption, driven by policy incentives and rising demand for distributed energy solutions.
