Australia-based Ark Energy has received NSW Government approval for its Richmond Valley Solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in northern New South Wales. The project is developed since 2019, includes a solar farm and a long-duration lithium-iron-phosphate battery. It is on the Australian Government’s National Priority List and is Ark Energy’s second approved project in the state after the 2024 Bowmans Creek Wind Farm Stage 1. The project was reviewed under national environmental laws by the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, and Ark Energy is now waiting for the department’s final decision. Ark Energy awaited the final decision from the department.
