The Andhra Pradesh High Court directed the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) to submitan affidavit detailing solar power tariffs charged to other states when Andhra Pradesh agreed to procure 7 GW at INR 2.49 (~ $ 0.0274) per unit. SECI was also instructed to provide related orders issued by the Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (APERC). The hearing, linked to public interest litigations by Payyavula Keshav and K Ramakrishna, was adjourned to September 3. State counsel stated APERC approved a rate of INR 2.42 (~ $ 0.0266) per unit. SECI confirmed this was the agreed price, noting other states paid between INR 2.01 (~ $ 0.0221) and INR 2.52 (~ $ 0.0277) per unit. Petitioners argued Andhra Pradesh’s rate was higher than Gujarat’s INR 1.99 (~ $ 0.0219) per unit.
