Altus Power, a US-based solar energy provider, has acquired ten community solar projects in Maryland from Prospect14, totaling 58.4 MW. According to Altus Power, the projects are expected to serve approximately 8,000 customers under Maryland’s Community Solar program. Prospect14 will complete development under a services agreement, while Altus Power will own and operate the sites once active. The portfolio includes allocations for low-to-moderate income households and supports residents unable to install rooftop systems. Altus Power said that growing demand from data centers and electric vehicles has increased pressure on local energy infrastructure. As per Altus Power, it currently serves over 35,000 community solar subscribers across the United States. Altus Power also recently completed a 1.7 MW solar project in California.
