AIKO, a Shanghai-based provider of n-type back contact solar technology, has signed multiple utility-scale agreements during Intersolar Europe 2025 to expand its global footprint. The most significant deal was a 340 MW supply contract with Athens-based Green Line Energy S.A., a renewable energy developer affiliated with Agrotech S.A. According to AIKO, this project is the largest known utility-scale deployment of back contact modules in Europe. The agreement is intended to support Green Line Energy’s decarbonization goals across Southeast Europe through advanced solar technologies. Back contact modules are designed without front contacts, which reduces shading and can improve overall energy efficiency. AIKO stated that these agreements reflect growing confidence in back contact technology as a high-efficiency alternative for utility-scale solar installations in global markets.
