AGR Renewables, a UK-based clean energy developer, has acquired two projects from Cambridge Power. The portfolio includes a 70MW solar project with a 50MW co-located battery, and a standalone 50MW BESS, both located near Eaton Socon, Bedfordshire. The solar installation is expected to export up to 49.9MW to the grid. Together, the assets will provide 100MWh of grid balancing capacity. The BESS received planning approval in 2023, while the solar project was approved in early 2025. Construction is scheduled to begin in Q3 2025. The solar site has recorded over 100% net biodiversity gain. The battery system is expected to deliver a 71% net gain. The combined projects will support national grid stability and generate local employment during construction and operation.
