India-headquartered ABIL and Mahalakshmi Group announced a 100 MW floating solar photovoltaic (FSPV) plant at Middle Vaitarna Dam during a seminar held in Mumbai. The project aimed to expand renewable energy in the city. State Environment and Climate Change Minister Pankaja Munde inaugurated the event and discussed the importance of balancing project goals with public concerns. The company stated that floating solar technology in India still faced technical challenges, especially with anchoring in deep water bodies with changing levels. The floating system helped save land, reduced water evaporation, and improved panel performance due to water cooling.
