LS Power acquires Algonquin’s renewable energy business

US-based LS Power has acquired Canada-based Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp.’s renewable energy business, adding 3 GW of wind and solar assets and 8 GW of development projects across North America. LS Power created Clearlight Energy to manage 3 GW of operational assets (44 projects) and assigned 6.2 GW of US-based development projects to subsidiary REV Renewables. This acquisition expands LS Power’s renewable portfolio of 23 GW and development pipeline, advancing its renewable energy, storage, and grid reliability across North America.
