Louisiana Public Service Commission has approved Entergy Louisiana’s proposal to add up to 3 GW of solar power, marking the largest renewable power expansion in state history. This approval streamlines the procurement and approval process, enabling the construction of numerous solar resources within Louisiana. The company expects the initiative to support job creation and additional tax revenues, attracting industries seeking clean energy. Entergy Corporation aims to grow its renewable energy resources by 2031 and achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Entergy Louisiana’s current renewable resources include the Capital Region Solar facility and a recent approval for 225 MW of renewable projects, bringing its solar portfolio to over 3,800 MW in development and approval stages.
