Larsen & Toubro’s Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) vertical has secured a domestic contract to build a 185 MW PV plant along with a battery energy storage system (BESS) in Bihar’s Kajra, Lakshisarai district. The solar plant will support Bihar’s renewable energy goals, addressing climate change and energy demand growth. The 254MWh BESS will store solar energy during low-demand periods and supply it during peak demand, providing frequency regulation, voltage support, and black start capability. PT&D’s renewable portfolio includes 18GWp of solar and wind projects, with over 1.5GWh of storage capacity.
