LEAG and EP New Energies have started assembling Germany’s largest floating solar plant at Cottbus Ostsee. The 29 MWp facility, set to be operational by winter 2024/2025, will produce around 29,000 MWh annually, powering approximately 8,250 households. The plant will feature Over 51,000 solar panels will be mounted on nearly 1,800 floating platforms anchored to underwater structures in the Baltic Sea. Pre-assembled on the shore, these solar platforms will be transported by boat to their designated locations on the lake. The plant will utilize 88 inverters, eight transformer stations, and two medium-voltage systems.
