KKR supports Origis with major funding

KKR, a leading global investment firm, and Origis Energy, a renewable energy and decarbonization platform, have announced a $300 million corporate financing facility. This financing, managed by KKR’s insurance business, will support the development and construction of Origis’ solar and storage projects. Origis has developed over 250 projects since its inception, with a current US portfolio of more than 12 GW in operation, contracted, and mature development stages, and an additional 13 GW in the pipeline. This investment is part of KKR’s Asset-Based Finance (ABF) strategy, which focuses on credit investments backed by diversified pools of financial and hard assets. KKR’s ABF platform, which began investing in 2016, now manages approximately $54 billion in ABF assets globally across its High-Grade ABF and Opportunistic ABF strategies.
