JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd., a leading solar module manufacturer, has announced a breakthrough in its TOPCon-based perovskite tandem solar cell. Tested by the Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the cell achieved a conversion efficiency of 33.24%, surpassing its previous record of 32.33%. This marks the 26th time JinkoSolar has set a world record for PV product efficiency and power output. The perovskite tandem solar cell uses Jinko's high-efficiency monocrystalline TOPCon solar cell as the bottom cell. Innovations in ultra-thin poly-Si passivated contact technology, light-trapping technology, high-transmittance intermediate recombination layer, and efficient surface passivation technology contributed to this achievement. This result demonstrates the compatibility of TOPCon with next-generation perovskite/silicon tandem cell technology, exceeding the efficiency limits of single-junction silicon solar cells.
