During the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) in Abu Dhabi, JA Solar has signed a 1.25 GW module procurement agreement with China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC). The deal is for the Abydos Phase II 1 GW+600 MWh project of Africa's largest solar & storage installation. This project includes spans over 20 sq kms and is developed by AMEA Power and constructed by CEEC. The project is expected to generate 3,000 GWh power annually, anticipated to provide electricity to over 500,000 households and offset more than 1 million tons of CO2 emissions annually. The completion of another project, the 500 MW Abydos Phase I Solar Plant, utilizes JA Solar modules, and underscores the collaboration between AMEA Power, CEEC, and JA Solar.
