Canada-based Innergex Renewable Energy Inc. has secured a recommendation from Washington’s EFSEC to develop the 470 MW Wautoma Solar project in Benton County. The solar farm, spanning 3,000 acres in Wautoma Valley, will include 1.3 million panels and a battery system offering four-hour energy storage. Construction will take 14-16 months, with Innergex covering all costs. The project expands Innergex’s renewable energy portfolio, which exceeds 4 GW globally.
