Websol Energy System, a India based solar module manufacturer, has signed an MoU with Linton Crystal Technologies, headquartered in Rochester to explore a PV ingot and wafer manufacturing facility in India. The companies have agreed to assess domestic production potential and related investment needs. Websol has planned to acquire PV ingot and wafer manufacturing equipment from Linton. Managing Director Sohan Lal Agarwal has stated the initiative is intended to reduce raw-material import dependence and upgrade the company’s technology base. The company also offers solutions for growing high-quality crystals used in photovoltaic applications.
