West Bengal-headquartered Websol Energy System Limited launched commercial production at its expanded solar cell unit in Falta, West Bengal. The expansion added 600 MW capacity, raising the total to 1.2 GW.The Phase II expansion focused on Mono PERC cells and was funded internally. The facility aligned with the company’s existing 550 MW module capacity at the same site. A temporary 8-day shutdown during commissioning caused a one-time revenue impact in Q2 FY2026, after which normal operations resumed. Websol supplied cells mainly to Indian module makers under DCR policies, while its own modules were distributed in India and abroad. The Falta SEZ site now housed 1.2 GW of cell and 550 MW of module capacity across seven acres.
