Waa Solar Limited, a Gujarat-based solar power generator, has secured a ₹225 crore project order from Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited for grid-connected solar plants in Madhya Pradesh. According to Waa Solar Limited, the projects fall under the Surya Mitra Krishi Feeders Scheme within PM-KUSUM Component-C. The scope involves feeder solarisation to supply electricity to agricultural consumers through state-managed distribution infrastructure. As per Waa Solar Limited, the project work will be executed over 18 months from the Power Purchase Agreement signing date. The order strengthens ongoing rural solarisation efforts across Madhya Pradesh. The programme is aimed at improving daytime power availability for farmers. The development also supports reduced dependence on conventional grid electricity. The initiative accelerates distributed solar capacity deployment across rural regions.
