Headquartered in Mumbai, Vedanta Ltd, diversified natural resources and energy company, has doubled its renewable energy capacity to 1.03 GW through wind, solar, and pump storage portfolio, committed to reach 2.5 GW by 2030. The company added that this expansion may reduce more than 6 million tonnes of co2 emissions every year, equivalent to the carbon stored by nearly 350 million trees. The increased capacity has been achieved through power delivery agreements. The action is in line with its declared vision of reaching net-zero emissions by 2050 or sooner. Vedanta has a presence across industries such as critical minerals, oil and gas, and power in various geographies, including India.
