Va Tech Wabag, global water technology company headquartered in Chennai, have secured a INR46.5 crore order from RenewSys India Private Limited for a 2 GW solar cell manufacturing facility in Hyderabad, Telangana. The scope included design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, installation, and commissioning of an ultrapure water system, an effluent treatment plant, and a zero liquid discharge system. The work was scheduled to be completed within 11 months. The contract marked Wabag’s entry into water management solutions for solar cell facilities and extended its focus to industrial applications including solar, green hydrogen, and semiconductors.
