Uttar Pradesh, a northern India–based state administration, has accelerated implementation of the PM Surya Ghar Yojana based on official state data. The data represents that 2.75 lakh rooftop solar units were installed across households. This installation has reduced grid dependence and lowered electricity expenses. The scheme has supported rural and low-income regions where consistent power availability was previously limited, improving daily operations for small businesses. Rooftop systems have also enabled households to redirect savings toward essential needs such as education and healthcare. Uttar Pradesh has released Rs 1,808.09 crore (~ $ 204.5 million) in subsidies, which has increased scheme participation in districts such as Lucknow, Varanasi, Kanpur Nagar, and Bareilly.
