The Uttar Pradesh government has reported that the region completed 300,654 solar installations from 983,915 applications. Officials said the installed systems totalled 1,038.27 MW and this capacity was supplying power across rural and urban areas. The administration has supported rooftop deployment over eight years through PM Surya Ghar Yojana and the state solar policy. These measures were implemented with defined procedures, digital tracking and scheduled timelines for installations. Energy experts said the rapid growth was influencing electricity-demand patterns across multiple sectors. The officials added that some consumers have lowered electricity costs and received payments for surplus-energy exports.
