India-based Urjavinya Solutions Pvt. Ltd. was awarded a 48 MW solar and 20 MWh BESS EPC project by Reneurja Energy in Zambia. The site was located 25 km from Lusaka and required detailed terrain assessment. The area was marked by undulated rocky ground and dense forestry affecting soil strata. The team used PVCase software to prepare initial plant layouts on challenging terrain. In-house 3D algorithms were applied for cut-and-fill analysis and terrain-following adjustments. The project used 610 W Longi bifacial modules and 330 kW Huawei inverters. Grid integration was planned through a 33 kV evacuation system and an 80 kV GSS bay extension. A 5 km transmission line was included to connect the plant to ZESCO. The project secured first-time approval for a scheme of this scale.
