A German delegation led by Dr Sebastian and Dr Raghu Chaliganti met Telangana deputy chief minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka in Hyderabad to discuss proposals for integrating advanced solar technologies into the state’s power sector. Vikramarka stated that the government aimed to strengthen electricity generation and utilisation by exploring solar supply for agricultural pump sets and Gruha Jyothi beneficiaries, who currently receive free or subsidised power. He said the state intended to develop a model enabling farmers and consumers to earn regular income from solar participation. The deputy chief minister instructed energy department principal secretary Navin Mittal to examine the feasibility of German proposals and prepare a detailed report on their technical and economic potential for Telangana.
