Tata Power, an integrated power companies, headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra has planned to establish India’s largest solar wafers and ingots manufacturing plant with a capacity of 10 GW. The facility was intended to complete the company’s presence across the solar manufacturing chain, adding to its existing 4.9 GW of cell and module capacity. Chief executive Praveer Sinha said the firm was exploring federal and state financial support for the project, with investment decisions expected within two months. The move aligned with the government’s initiative to promote domestic ingot and wafer production. Separately, Tata Power was also considering entry into nuclear power generation as India targeted 100 GW by 2047.
