Punjab’s 26 MW PV plant built by Swaraj Tractors & Mahindra Susten

Mahindra Susten partnered with Swaraj Tractors to develop a 26 MW solar plant in Bathinda, powering four Punjab units and cutting 54,600 tons of CO2 yearly.

Swaraj Tractors, a Mahindra Group company in India, partnered with Mahindra Susten to establish a 26 MW solar power project in Bathinda, Punjab. The project was planned to supply around 60 million kWh of electricity each year to four Swaraj Tractors plants in Mohali and Dera Bassi. It aimed to help Swaraj Tractors meet up to 50% of its energy needs from solar power and reduce about 54,600 tons of carbon emissions every year. This was Mahindra Susten’s first solar project in Punjab. The project also supported Mahindra Group’s larger goal of switching fully to renewable energy. Additionaly, Mahindra Susten also secured ₹1,448 crore for 560 MW solar project.
