Solex Energy, Indian solar panel manufacturer, is planning to invest $1.5 billion over the next five years to expand solar manufacturing in India, as stated by the company. The plan includes increasing module capacity from 4 GW to 10 GW, adding 10 GW of solar cell capacity and 2 GW of wafer and ingot capacity. The expansion follows a shift after the pandemic from an EPC-focused business to manufacturing and supply, as per the management. The company stated that government policies, including the ALMM framework, have supported domestic manufacturing and upstream capacity growth. Solex Energy is supplying solar modules to Indian and international customers and is operating automated facilities with a young workforce trained through technical education programmes.
