Singapore-headquartered Sembcorp Industries, through Sembcorp Green Infra, has won a 150 MW solar project with 300 MWh battery storage from SJVN Limited. The project is part of SJVN’s 1.2 GW solar plan, which includes 600 MW of storage. Sembcorp will build, own and operate the project. The project is expected to start running within 24 months after signing a 25-year power deal. The battery system is designed to supply stored energy for four hours daily during peak demand. Project financing will combine internal funding and debt. This marked Sembcorp’s second solar-plus-storage project in India. Following the award, Sembcorp’s total renewable capacity in India reached 6.3 GW, while its global renewable portfolio rose to 17.7 GW including pending acquisitions.
