Sembcorp Green Infra, the Indian unit of Singapore-based Sembcorp Industries, has won a 150 MW firm and dispatchable renewable energy project awarded by state-owned SJVN. The project is integrated solar, wind and battery energy storage systems to ensure reliable power supply during peak demand. It formed part of SJVN’s 1,500 MW/6,000 MWh tender for assured peak power from interstate renewable projects with storage. Sembcorp planned to install around 750 MW of solar and BESS capacity to meet the contracted output. The project was expected to begin commercial operations within 24 months of signing a 25-year PPA with SJVN. With this award, Sembcorp’s renewable capacity in India reached 7.6 GW and 20.1 GW globally.
