India-headquartered Reliance NU Energies is a subsidiary of Reliance Power. It has secured a 350 MW solar project from SJVN. The project includes a 175 MW/700 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). It was awarded through a tariff-based competitive bidding process. The winning tariff is fixed at INR 3.33 per kWh for 25 years. The BESS system will provide 175 MWh of backup power for four hours daily. The project formed part of SJVN's 1,200 MW solar and 600 MW/2,400 MWh BESS tender, which was oversubscribed. Reliance NU Energies achieved the largest allocation. The project awaits a Letter of Award and will be developed under a built-own-operate model. Once commissioned, it will add 600 MW solar and 700 MWh storage to Reliance Power’s clean energy portfolio. Additionaly, Reliance NU Suntech also signed a 25-year PPA with SECI for a 930 MW solar and 465 MW/1860 MWh BESS project at a ₹3.53/kWh tariff, with an investment of up to INR10,000 crore (~$1.17 billion).
