Reliance Industries, at its 48th annual general meeting, announced plans for a massive single-site solar project in Kutchh, Gujarat, spread across 5,50,000 acres. The project was said to have the potential to supply nearly 10% of India’s electricity needs within the next decade. The company confirmed production of its first 200 MW of heterojunction technology modules, noting higher yield and performance advantages. Reliance is preparing to scale solar PV manufacturing to 10 GW annually, with a longer-term target of 20 GW. Work is also underway on the Dhirubhai Ambani Giga Energy Complex in Jamnagar, combining conventional and new energy operations. Additionally, Reliance is constructing battery and electrolyser giga factories, expected to start in 2026 with 40 GWh yearly capacity and expand to 100 GWh.
