Solar power generation in Rajasthan has been constrained by transmission shortages affecting multiple utility-scale projects. Northern Regional Load Despatch Centre(NRLDC), an India-based grid operations authority, has overseen the curtailment situation. According to NRLDC, over 4,300 MW of solar capacity has faced complete daytime curtailment due to exhausted transmission margins. The impacted capacity has belonged to 26 solar projects operating under the Temporary General Network Access framework. Developers have included companies such as Adani, ReNew, and Serentica. Projects by Juniper, Zelestra, ACME and Amp Energy were also affected. Rajasthan has had around 23 GW of commissioned renewable capacity against about 18.9 GW of transmission capability. Despite commissioning of the 765 kV Khetri–Narela line, only 600 MW of additional capacity was realised, as per industry sources.
Rajasthan solar projects face large-scale curtailment from transmission shortages
Over 4,300 MW of solar capacity in Rajasthan was fully curtailed as transmission lagged, affecting 26 projects by Adani, ReNew, ACME and peers, per industry sources.
