The Rajasthan government has announced a tender for 2.45 GW of solar power capacity coupled with 6,400 MWh of battery energy storage. The tender was issued by Rajasthan Solarpark Development Company Ltd (RSDCL) and was planned at the Pugal solar park in Bikaner. Power procurement was carried out by Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services Ltd (RUVITL) on behalf of state distribution companies. The project was structured under tariff-based global competitive bidding and implemented on a build-own-operate basis. Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited (RRECL) was investing over INR 1,000 crore (~$ 110.91 million) for development of the solar park, including survey, design, civil works and power evacuation systems. RSDCL was providing land, transmission infrastructure, and grid connectivity within the park. The tender capacity was divided into two lots with defined minimum and maximum limits, allowing developers to bid for one or both. Contracts for civil works were already in place, transmission infrastructure development was underway and the projects were scheduled to be commissioned within 24 months of signing the power purchase agreement.
