Rajasthan has surpassed 2,000 MW of renewable energy capacity under the PM-Kusum scheme, marking a major step in rural solar expansion.Rajasthan also added 1,000 MW of capacity within just four months, reaching 2,001 MW through farm-based projects and solarised agricultural pumps. Under components A and C, semi-barren land is used for solar plants while irrigation pumps are powered by solar systems. Jodhpur leads installations with 1,628 MW, followed by Jaipur and Ajmer. Since the current government took office 20 months ago, Rajasthan’s solar additions have risen fifteenfold, with 1.28 lakh pumps solarised. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has raised Rajasthan’s target to 5,250 MW, recognising its rapid progress toward supplying daytime power to all farmers by 2027.
