Rajasthan Solar Park Development Company Ltd (RSDCL), a Jaipur subsidiary of the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Ltd (RRECL), is constructing India's first mega solar park with BESS in Bikaner. The Pugal Solar Park will boast an installed generation capacity of 2,450 MW with an installed capacity of 5,000 MWh BESS allowing for energy storage during non-sunny periods. According to RSDCL, the project covers 4,780 hectares of government land and has executed all land formalities and infrastructure establishment on a plug-and-play basis. As per the Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam (RVPN), 765/400 kV substations and transmission lines are being installed to facilitate smooth grid connectivity. The park is anticipated to generate more than 1,000 jobs and greatly improve Rajasthan's energy self-sufficiency.
