Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), a New Delhi-headquartered Indian energy producer engaged in oil, gas and emerging renewables, has awarded a 300 MW ISTS-connected solar project that ONGC said is designed to generate about 710 million units every year. The company has stated that this project aligns with its 10 GW renewable-energy target for 2030 while contributing to India’s national objective of achieving 500 GW renewable capacity. ONGC has added that the new project forms part of its integrated plan to develop 300 MW solar and 300 MW wind for captive use across Hazira, Uran and group entity OPaL. ONGC noted that upcoming wind, solar and BESS tenders are expected to lift the ONGC-OGL portfolio toward 3.70 GW.
