Octillion, a California-based of electric vehicle battery system manufacturer, has successfully converted its Pune, India manufacturing facility to operate entirely on solar energy. This facility is one of three in India and also is Octillion's first to achieve 100% carbon-free power. The 8,200 sq mts factory, which generates 3 GWh of total annual battery capacity, has installed a new rooftop solar system. The project is expected to generate approximately 545 MWh of clean energy each year, fully meeting the facility’s power needs. According to Octillion, the installation commenced in June 2024 and attained full operational status in July 2025. This conversion is part of a larger plan to make all Octillion India-based facilities carbon neutral by 2027.
