NTPC Ltd, a New Delhi-based state-owned power producer, has commissioned new solar projects totaling 359.58 MW in Gujarat and Rajasthan. These additions have raised the company’s total installed and commercial capacity to more than 85.5 GW nationwide. The latest commissioned capacity includes 243.66 MW from the 1,255 MW Khavda-I solar project in Gujarat. NTPC Renewable Energy, a step-down subsidiary, is developing this large-scale Khavda-I installation in phases. The utility has also brought on stream 37.93 MW of a 300 MW Khavda project under the 450 MW Hybrid Tranche-V scheme. In Rajasthan, NTPC has commissioned 78 MW of the 245 MW Nokh Sokar solar project, expanding its western India portfolio. The company has set a formal target of achieving 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032. Prior to this update, NTPC had issued tenders covering O&M for a 100 MW floating solar project.

NTPC has added 359.58 MW PV capacity in Gujarat and Rajasthan through Hybrid Tranche-V, Khavda-I, and Nokh Sokar projects, taking its total installed capacity to 85.5 GW.
