NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has started commercial operations for 97.5 MW of solar capacity at its Khavda projects in Gujarat from June 30, 2025. This includes 32.8 MW from the second phase of the 300 MW Khavda Solar Energy Project under the 450 MW Hybrid Tranche-V scheme. Another 64.7 MW has been commissioned as part of the third phase of the 1255 MW Khavda-I Solar PV Project, developed under the CPSU (Central Public Sector Undertaking) Scheme Phase-II, Tranche-III. The earlier phases of these projects, totalling over 399 MW, became operational in June 2025. The projects are part of NTPC REL’s ongoing work under government-supported renewable energy programmes in Gujarat.
