India’s NTPC Green Energy Limited, a subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has entered a memorandum of understanding with the Government of Gujarat to build 10 GW of solar and 5 GW of wind capacity. Its wholly owned arm, NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, said the projects will include new solar parks and wind power developments across several districts. NTPC Renewable Energy currently handles four solar projects with 2.36 GW capacity, three wind projects totaling 354 MW, and a 226 MW hybrid project under progress in Gujarat. NTPC Limited’s overall capacity now stands at over 83 GW, with renewables accounting for 13.3 GW.
