NHPC Limited has completed commissioning of its 300 MW Karnisar Solar Project in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The company received the Certificate of Successful Trial Run Completion on October 10, 2025, for the final 85.72 MW phase, marking the project’s full readiness for commercial operation. With this, all construction and testing activities have concluded, and the entire capacity is prepared to supply power to the national grid. The project adds to India’s operational solar base and will deliver electricity to Punjab under long-term supply arrangements. Developed in multiple phases, the Karnisar plant represents one of NHPC’s major solar initiatives, transitioning from hydro-based generation to integrated renewable operations. Its completion supports grid diversification in the northern region, contributing additional solar output to meet growing power demand while aligning with India’s planned renewable capacity expansion.
