Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam (MPUVN) plans to develop 5 GW of decentralised solar capacity under the Surya Mitra Krishi Feeder Yojana. Tenders have been issued across 1,900 agricultural feeders in the state. The estimated investment for the program is ₹20,000 crore, supported by MoUs with banks. Of the total capacity, 1.2 GW is expected to qualify for central financial assistance, based on data from around 2.45 lakh connected irrigation pumps. MPUVN has allowed developers to bid for the full sub-station capacity, even if only part of it qualifies for subsidy, offering flexibility in participation and financing.
